A professional answer should lead back to its source

Put the reference where it is needed

When an answer draws on several passages, placing each source beside the relevant statement makes review easier than listing files only at the end. The user can enter the original material at the point relevant to the question.

Design the route to the original

A file name, version, applicable period and reading location together form a useful source entry. A footnote number that cannot be opened does not complete the referencing task.

Do not manufacture completeness

When evidence is insufficient, state the gap and explain how the question or material can be improved. A workflow that knows when to stop is more useful to examine than an interface that always produces a complete-looking paragraph.

Connect reading to method

ARCHIVE treats the answer, source and review as one reading action. Its focus is not the chat bubble, but how information is understood, checked and handed over.
